The new photovoltaic solar plant has been operative since 21st July 2010 and it is installed on the roof of Ilva Taranto Works Management offices.
It is a plant capable of producing electrical energy with a power of 160 kWp, and covers an area of 1,164 sqm, thus allowing significant improvements from the environmental point of view.
From now on it will also be possible to quantify constantly the solar plant production activity through a light panel, with about 200 thousand LEDs, which shows the immediate and updated reading of the energy produced by the plant and the consequent reduction of CO2 emissions going into the atmosphere, related to the single current day and to the current month.
This new brand light panel, installed on the Works Management Building wall facing the city, satisfies the wish to give information of public interest through a continuous and transparent monitoring of Ilva commitment to environmental issues and its renewed attention toward alternative energies.
